Saimaa Kayaks Sit on Top 1 (SOT) is 270cm long playful and durable open kayak, suitable for short kayaking trips and for shared fun at the cottage beach. The hull is made of durable polyethylene and the kayak has no removable fins, rudder or other parts that can be lost or broken, making it very carefree to use. The kayak can be used with or without the soft seat included in the equipment package; the bottom has a shaped seating area with a low seat for the lower back. There is a drinks bottle holder in front of the seat, a small waterproof storage compartment and a bungee net on the back for easy attachment of camping gear. The two freeboards/shackles also allow fishing in the open kayak. The freeboards are conveniently located just behind the bench on the sides of the kayak.
The open kayak has carrying handles at both ends, plus handles recessed in the middle, making it easy to move the kayak alone or with two people. Sit on top 1 is a nifty little kayak that's always ready to go!
The equipment package includes a lightweight two-piece detachable aluminium paddle with plastic slats, 222cm long and weighing 950g. The handle of the paddle has a grab bar for the right hand, three different paddle angle adjustments and spillage stops on the platform. The paddle has a very comfortable grip and a good feel for paddling.
