Hyperlite's Source is designed for the wakeboarder who already knows the basics, but wants to progress in jumps towards the pro level. Of course, it's also possible to start wakeboarding with the Source, especially if you're interested in jumping - the Source's quality construction makes it a long-lasting board that will keep you jumping year after year.
The Source has a 3-stage rocker, which means that the profile of the board is flat in the middle, which makes for low water resistance, making it light to ride. However, the main idea of the 3-stage rocker is to get great bounces from the wave, as the flat middle part of the board directs the pressure directly upwards, making the jump high, which is especially useful when jumping from a small wave.
The board has four removable fins to give extra grip if needed, which is especially useful when learning to carry on the board and pick up momentum on the wave. As your carrying skills improve, you can remove the fins and get a freer feel for the water and easier surface trimming.
