The Saimaa Kayaks Expedition 1 is a compact, fast, high-quality, and directionally stable inflatable kayak. It’s the stiffest model among inflatable kayaks and an excellent choice even for experienced paddlers. The kayak’s sides and bottom are made using the same drop-stitch construction familiar from SUP boards, providing outstanding stiffness and durability. This structure gives the kayak a level of rigidity and glide that comes closest to hard-shell kayaks, as minimal energy is lost to hull flex. The package includes everything you need — ready for the water!

Stable and Streamlined Performance

With its narrow profile, detachable fin, and V-shaped hard plastic bow and stern reinforcements, the Expedition 1 tracks beautifully and cuts through the water like a hot knife through butter. The bow and stern reinforcements also improve wave penetration and make landings easier by absorbing impacts. A practical raised splash guard on the bow cover helps keep water out.

Durable Construction & Safe Design

The kayak floor features a non-slip EVA foam coating, protecting the surface and preventing slipping when entering or exiting. The sides and floor are separate air chambers, adding safety on the water. The bow and stern covers are brightly colored for visibility from a distance, and there are drain valves on the bottom. The kayak’s load capacity is 130 kg.

Comfort & Adjustability

The seat is thicker (4.5 cm) than a standard fabric seat and slightly contoured on the sides for extra support and comfort during paddling. The seat includes solid adjustments and quick-release buckles. The footrests also have a wide adjustment range and can be set for both children and adults. All quick-release fittings and integrated D-rings on the kayak are made from galvanized aluminum for long-lasting durability.

Paddle & Accessories

The included aluminum paddle with plastic blades is 220 cm long and weighs 1050 g. It can be disassembled into four parts for easy storage. The paddle offers three adjustable blade angles and drip rings to prevent water from running down the shaft.

The package includes a paddle, seat, footrest, high-efficiency double-action pump (inflates on both pull and push), carrying bag, fin, deck bungee cords for securing gear, and a repair kit. The kayak inflates and is ready for use in about ten minutes and can be packed back into the carrying bag in just a few minutes. This high-quality kayak comes with a three-year warranty.
