Mistral's Skywave Air is the perfect board for learning wing flying. The air-filled construction makes it easy to stay above the surface, and the occasional flip or other fidgeting won't hurt your bones or your wallet.
As an inflatable board, the Skywave Air is also easy to pack for travel, so there's no need to make special arrangements for storage in winter. The board is particularly beginner-friendly, with a generous 76cm width and 130L air volume. These dimensions make the board really sturdy, stable and safe.
Getting from the kneeling position to the upright position is easy with the wide base and thick thighs. The bow rocker softens the downhaul and at only 162cm long, the board's profile is quite moderate, which adds ease and smoothness to the ride, as well as allowing for a little trickery.
The board is built around a lightweight but super-strong carbon fibre plate, to which you easily attach a twin-track hydrofoil. Mistral's carbon fibre plate setup provides a rigid and sturdy attachment to the foil, while ensuring that the user gets the most out of the board. The board is constructed from Mistral's woven Twine-X Fusion Double Layer dropstitch with up to 15,000 polyester yarns per square metre. The cover has a comfortable EVA padding, with the back of the pad grooved in a salami pattern for extra grip. The tail is shaped to improve ride quality and also has a notch for carrying the board.
